After some developer-related delays, the City of North Bend has issued a Clearing and Grading permit for the River Run Apartment project.
This multi-family housing development is located south of Chinook Lumber at 436th Ave SE and SE 136th Street. It will consist of 128-units in 11 buildings, with one additional building containing a clubhouse/office space.
Approximately 28 of the new apartments will be designated as affordable housing for households earning 80% or less of the King County Area Median Income (AMI).
Sitework is expected to start this week at the nearly 6-acre land parcel. Later this year, a new roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of 436th Ave SE and SE 136th Street.
This developer-funded roundabout will be constructed to mitigate potential future traffic impacts. No taxpayer dollars are being spent on this traffic improvement project.
During site work, traffic delays should be anticipated. Residents of the immediate vicinity should expect noise and limited, short-term vibration during project construction.
Traffic control and associated signage will always be provided during construction in the public right-of-way. Drivers should plan for single-lane closures and short delays.
Regular construction hours will be 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday thru Friday, and some Saturdays, 9 AM to 5 PM, as permitted by City Municipal Code. No work will be allowed on Sundays or City observed holidays.

Delay it permanently! No road improvements to handle the extra capacity (concurrency) and sprawl is sprawl that doesn’t benefit us.
